Apple Cobbler Filling

Ingredients

Cobbler Dough:
1 cup flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter real
1/4 cup milk
1 egg

1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon ground
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg ground
6 cups apples cored, pared, and sliced, tart
sugar

Directions:

* Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add butter and blend with a fork or pastry blender until texture of cornmeal. Add milk and egg, stirring just to moisten. Apple Cobbler Filling:
*Heat oven to 400° F. Combine 1 cup sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and apples cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until almost tender, about 7 minutes. Place in 8-inch square baking dish. Drop cobbler dough by spoonfuls onto hot fruit filling. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake 20 minutes.
