25 medium pears, unpeeled
2 (14-ounce) packages pineapple tidbits
2 oranges, juiced and rind grated (zest)
12 cups sugar
1 (13-ounce) bottle maraschino cherries
Chop pears into small pieces. Add pineapple tidbits, orange juice, orange zest and sugar; let stand overnight. Next morning, cook slowly until thick, about two hours. Add cherries. Seal in hot, sterilized jars.
