Even your Chihuahua will take notice when you serve this delicious margarita.
SIMPLE LEMON-LIME SYRUP
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
3 tablespoons cold water
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
MARGARITA
1 papaya, peeled, seeded, and cut into cubes
1 small ripe banana, peeled and cubed
3 tablespoons tequila
1 tablespoon triple sec
2 tablespoons simple lemon-lime syrup
TO MAKE THE SYRUP
Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the mixture comes to a boil. Remove the saucepan from heat; allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. When cool, add the lemon and lime juice and blend well. Transfer the syrup to a small covered container, and refrigerate for at least an hour or until well chilled.
TO MAKE THE MARGARITA
Add the papaya to the juicer, and process until juiced. Place the banana in a blender, and mix until pureed. Add the papaya juice to the blender; blend well. Add the tequila, triple sec, and Simple Lemon-Lime Syrup, and mix until well blended. Pour the margarita into a margarita glass, and garnish with a fresh orchid or a Lime Wheel (see Garnishes with a Twist), if desired.
