The Sunsplash cocktail was created in 1996 by a bartender at the Starlight Room in San Francisco. This is my freshly squeezed version of this Golden Gate grabber.
1 orange, peeled and segmented
1/4 cup cranberries
3 tablespoons vodka
1 tablespoon Cointreau or other orange liqueur
1/2 tablespoon superfine sugar
Alternate adding the orange and cranberries to the juicer, and process until juiced. Fill a covered shaker halfway up with ice, and add the juice, vodka, Cointreau, and sugar. Shake until well blended. Strain the Sunsplash into a chilled cocktail glass, and garnish with an Lemon and Cranberry Twist (see Garnishes with a Twist), if desired.
