Split Pea Soup


Serves: 6
Total Calories: 120

Ingredients

8 ounces split peas, dried
4 cups water
3/4 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup carrot, chopped
1/2 cup ham, lean, chopped
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds, ground
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
1/4 teaspoon marjoram leaves
1/8 teaspoon thyme leaves

Directions:

1. Sort and wash peas place in a dutch oven. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 1 hour or until peas are tender.
2. Pour half of mixture into container or an electric blender or a food processor process until smooth. Repeat with remaining mixture. Serve hot.
