3 cups turnips pared and diced
Pinch salt
3 tablespoons butter real
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons half and half
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Boil diced turnips in lightly-salted water until tender. Drain well. Mash turnips and stir in butter and sugar. Slowly stir in half-and-half to make a very soft consistency. Add salt and pepper. Serve hot.
