Chocolate-Covered Cherry Cake

Ingredients

2 (21-ounce) cans cherry pie filling
1 (18 1/2-ounce) package chocolate cake mix
1 cup butter, sliced
1 (2 1/4-ounce) package pecans
2 tablespoons sugar
Garnish: vanilla ice cream

Directions:

Add pie filling to a lightly greased 13"x9" baking pan. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over pie filling. Distribute butter slices evenly over cake mix. Sprinkle evenly with pecans and sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. Serve warm, topped with scoops of ice cream.

Tip: Children are sure to be helpful in the kitchen when they’re wearing their very own kid-size aprons. Visit a craft store to select fabric crayons and plain canvas aprons, then let kids decorate their apron as they like. Follow package directions to make the design permanent.
