Sour Cream Pear Pie

Ingredients

Pie:
1 cup sour cream
1 egg
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons flour
4 cups peeled and diced ripe pears
1 (9-inch) pie shell, unbaked

Pecan Streusel Topping:
1/4 cup butter, cut in small pieces
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans

Directions:

Pie:
Preheat oven to 375°. Blend sour cream, egg, sugar, vanilla, salt, and flour until smooth. Fold in prepared pears. Pour into pie shell. Bake for 40 minutes. Sprinkle with Pecan Streusel Topping and bake another 10 minutes. Cool slightly and serve.

Pecan Streusel Topping:
Cut butter into combined flour, sugar, and cinnamon. Add pecans.


Fun Fact: Each year around 10,000 climbers attempt to climb to the top of Mount Rainier with about fifty percent success. Most climbers require two to three days to reach the summit.
