Chocolate Caramel Pecan Pie

Ingredients

Caramel Sauce:
1 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

Filling:
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup light corn syrup
3 eggs
1 cup pecan halves
2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
1 (9-inch) pie crust, unbaked

Directions:

Caramel Sauce:
In a glass bowl, melt butter. Stir in flour and salt. Stir in whipping cream. Add sugar and brown sugar. Mix well. Microwave on high until mixture boils; microwave at a boil for 2 minutes longer. Set aside.

Filling:
In a large bowl, combine sugar, salt, melted butter, corn syrup, and eggs. Beat well. Stir 1/2 cup of Filling mixture into Caramel Sauce; blend well. Set aside. Stir pecans and chocolate into remaining Filling mixture; blend well. Pour into crust-lined pan. Pour Caramel Sauce evenly over Filling. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes or until outer edge of Filling is set and center is partially set. Cool on wire rack. Serve with whipped cream.
