1 cup butter real
1 cup lard
2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup coconut shredded
1/2 teaspoon salt

Heat oven to 350° F. Cream together butter, lard, granulated sugar, and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, coconut, and salt. The mixture will be very rich, almost crumbly. Shape into 1/2 -inch balls; place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool 5 minutes, then dust with confectioners' sugar.
