2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup butter real
2 eggs
3 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup nuts chopped (optional)
Cream together brown sugar, butter, and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and optional nuts. Form dough into 2 rolls, 2 inches in diameter. Wrap rolls in waxed paper or foil. Chill in refrigerator overnight. Heat oven to 350° F. Slice cookie rolls into 1/4 -inch slices. Place on lightly-greased cookie sheets and bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
