Penne with Bacon & Garlic

3/4 pound bacon, crisply cooked, crumbled and 2 tablespoons drippings reserved
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (16-ounce) package penne pasta, cooked
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 pint whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup green onion, sliced


Heat reserved drippings in a large skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and garlic; cook for 3 minutes, or until tender. Stir in pasta, cheese, cream and pepper; simmer over medium-low heat until sauce is thickened, stirring often. Stir in crumbled bacon and green onion; serve immediately.

Tip: Toss cooked pasta with a little olive oil, then set aside and keep warm. When it's time to add it to a favorite casserole recipe, you'll find the oil has kept the pasta from sticking together.
