(Pesche al Vino Rosso)
Category: Fruit Desserts
I remember watching my grandfather cutting up his homegrown white peaches to soak in a pitcher of red wine. The sweet peach juices tamed any roughness in the wine. White peaches are my favorite, but yellow peaches or nectarines are good too.
1/2 cup sugar, or to taste
2 cups fruity red wine
4 ripe peaches
1 In a medium bowl, combine the sugar and wine.
2 Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits. Cut the peaches into bite-size pieces. Stir them into the wine. Cover and refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
3 Spoon the peaches and wine into goblets and serve.
