Pizza Mounds

Ingredients

2 whole wheat pita bread
1/2 cup bottled pizza sauce (may use spaghetti sauce instead)
4 ounces sliced mushrooms
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 1/2 ounces red onions, thinly sliced
3 ounces shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese (3/4 cup)

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 400°F.

2. Using a serrated knife, cut each pita in half, creating 4 thin rounds like individual pizzas.

3. Top each round with 1/4 of the ingredients in the order listed.

4. Bake 7 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
