Bring a pan of salted water to a rolling boil. There should be enough water to cover the beans. Add prepared beans a few at a time in order to keep the water boiling. Cook at a rolling boil for a few minutes, then reduce heat to medium for 12 to 15 minutes. Taste from time to time to see if they are done. The raw taste should be cooked away, but the beans should remain fresh tasting and slightlycrisp to the bite. Drain at once, then add butter or crumbled, crisp fried bacon and a little bacon grease. Sliced green onion is also a nice addition.
