"I learned this very young because I was a 'preacher's kid'. "As we moved from parish to parish, Mother collected favorite recipes from church members," Betty fondly recalls. "She recorded these in a special cookbook, along with the person's name. "On our birthdays, we kids had the privilege of leafing through this treasured cookbook to choose what we wanted to eat. As we enjoyed the meal Mother prepared, we'd smile, laugh and maybe even shed a tear as we remembered the parishioners who'd contributed those recipes." This combination of cherished recipes is one of Betty's most memorable meals. Whenever she pulls out this collection of menu items, Betty recalls some treasured times seasoned with tasty memories.
