Caramels

Ingredients

1 cup butter
1 pound brown sugar (2-1/4 cups)
1 cup light corn syrup
pinch salt
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Melt butter add brown sugar, corn syrup, salt, and sweetened, condensed milk. Cook and stir over medium heat to firm ball stage (245°F) for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into buttered pan. Cool and cut into squares
