Bananas Broiled With Chutney |
|
Serves: 4
We tend to shy away from fruit as a side dish, but these creamy, spicy bananas might be just the thing to embolden a staid dinner. Serve them with a simple grilled fish or a garlic-infused roast chicken for a startling tropical tease.
2 large bananas, peeled and halved lengthwise
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
1 1/3 cups Major Grey's chutney

Heat a broiler to high and set the rack at its top setting. Place the bananas cut-sides up on a broiler pan. Mix the butter and chutney and spoon evenly over the bananas. Broil until browned and bubbly and the bananas are tender, about 8 minutes; serve.
