_ (2-pound) beef round steak, cut 3/4 inch thick
_ tablespoons vegetable oil
_ medium onion, sliced
___ cup water
_ (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of celery soup
___ cup milk
___ teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed
___ teaspoon dried oregano leaves, crushed
Cut steak into 6 portions; trim fat. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspon pepper. In skillet, brown steaks in heated oil. Remove steaks. In same skillet, brown onion. Return steaks; add water. Simmer, covered, 1 hour. Remove steaks to 11 x 7-inch baking dish; reserve drippings.
Blend soup and milk; stir into reserved drippings. Add thyme and oregano. Pour over steaks. Cover, label, and freeze.
To serve, thaw. Bake, covered, at 350° F for about 60 minutes or until hot throughout.
