A fruit smoothie can be a tasty breakfast or after-school snack, and it’s packed with nutrition! If you think they are way too complicated to make, give this one a try. The unsweetened frozen fruit found in your grocery store makes this a year-round treat. Don’t thaw the fruit; just toss it in the blender with the other ingredients.
1 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt
1 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries
1/2 cup low-fat (1%) milk
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons wheat germ
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
10 ice cubes
In a blender or food processor, puree all the ingredients until smooth, about 1-1 1/2 minutes.
You can easily substitute other frozen fruit such as raspberries, blueberries, or mixed fruit for this smoothie.
