2/3 cup water warmed
1 tablespoon yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup vegetable shortening - softened
1 2/3 cups flour
1 egg

Measure water and add yeast stirring to dissolve. Add sugar, salt, shortening, egg and 1 cup flour. Combine with mixer on low speed guiding batter into beaters and remaining flower. Beat with mixer until smooth. Spoon into greased muffin cups or greased oven proof tea cups filling 1/2 full. Let rise 30-40 minutes. Bake at 375° for 18-20 minutes.
