Sausage-Cheese Balls

Serves: 15

About 8 1/2 dozen appetizers


   _ cups Original Bisquick®
   _ pound uncooked bulk pork sausage
   _ cups shredded cheddar cheese (16 ounces)
   ___ cup grated Parmesan cheese
   ___ cup milk
   ___ teaspoon dried rosemary leaves, crumbled
   _ 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley or 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes


1. Heat oven to 350°. Lightly grease jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch.

2. Stir all ingredients until well mixed (you may need to use your hands). Shape mixture into 1-inch balls. Place in pan.

3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until brown. Immediately remove from pan. Serve warm.

HIGH ALTITUDE (3500 to 6500 feet): Heat oven to 375°. Use 2 1/2 cups Bisquick. Stir 1/2 cup all-purpose flour into Bisquick.

For Holiday Ham Balls, no changes.

Holiday Ham Balls: Substitute 1 1/2 cups finely chopped fully cooked ham for the sausage. Omit rosemary. Add 2 tablespoons parsley flakes and 2/3 cup milk. Mix and bake as directed.

BETTY'S TIP: Get a jump start on your party with these tasty nibbles. Make them up to a day ahead of time and refrigerate; bake as directed. Or, cover and freeze unbaked balls up to 1 month. Bake frozen balls 25 to 30 minutes or until brown.
