Serving Size: 1 puff
The next time you want to treat your co-workers to a little something special, bring in this puff and watch it disappear!

1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
   1 cup all-purpose flour
   2 tablespoons water
   1/2 cup margarine or butter
   1 cup water
   1 teaspoon almond extract
   1 cup all-purpose flour
   3 eggs
   Powdered Sugar Glaze (below)
   Sliced almonds or chopped nuts

   POWDERED SUGAR GLAZE
   1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened
   1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 to 2 teaspoons warm water

1. Heat oven to 350°.

2. Cut 1/2 cup margarine into 1 cup flour until particles are size of small peas. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons water over mixture; mix with fork. Gather pastry in ball; divide in half. Pat each half into rectangle, 12 x 3 inches, about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

3. Heat 1/2 cup margarine and 1 cup water to rolling boil in 2-quart saucepan; remove from heat. Stir in almond extract and 1 cup flour quickly. Stir vigorously over low heat about 1 minute or until mixture forms a ball; remove from heat. Add eggs; beat until smooth.

4. Spread half of the topping over each rectangle. Bake about 1 hour or until topping is crisp and brown; cool.

5. Spread with Powdered Sugar Glaze; sprinkle with nuts.
