Old-Fashioned Buckwheat Cakes

Ingredients

2 2/3 cups flour
1 1/3 cups buckwheat flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 package yeast active dry
2 1/2 cups water warm (110° to 115°F)
1/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Directions:

Combine flours and salt. Soften yeast in warm water stir in 1 tablespoon brown sugar. Stir into flour mixture. Mix well. Cover and let stand overnight at room temperature. When ready to cook, add remaining brown sugar, baking soda, and oil mix well. Cook batter on hot, lightly-greased griddle.
