Heat oven to 400° F. Beat buttermilk, eggs, sugar, salt, and baking soda. Mix cornmeal and flour; stir into buttermilk mixture. Add melted butter; stir. Pour into a well-greased 8-inch square pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
