3 pounds peaches peeled, pitted, and crushed
1 cup sugar
2 cups half and half
2 cups cream
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Place prepared peaches in bowl and sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar; toss and let stand while preparing custard. Heat half-and-half, heavy cream, remaining 3/4 cup sugar, and salt in saucepan to boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat; cool. Combine cream mixture with extracts and fruit. Pour into ice cream freezer. Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions.
