Cut meat into 2-inch cubes. Roll in flour. Sauté garlic and onions in butter in large skillet for 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Add meat and sauté for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add apples and curry powder. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the remaining ingredients and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour.
Author’s note: Beef, veal, or pork can be used instead of lamb. Fresh or leftover peas, string or wax beans, carrot slices, mushrooms, or quarters of green pepper may be added during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
