Brandied Paté

1 cup canned liver paté
1/4 cup brandy
1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper to taste
chopped chives to taste


Sauté mushrooms in butter over low heat for 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Add mushrooms and butter to paté and mix well. Stir in brandy, parsley, salt, and pepper and blend thoroughly. Let stand at room temperature for at least 1 hour. Chill in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 4 hours. Serve sprinkled with chopped chives.
