Golden Marinade Chicken on Sticks

Ingredients

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup gin ( or sherry )
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon grated ginger root
1 clove garlic, grated
about a pound of boneless chicken
1 can large button mushrooms
barbecue bamboo sticks

Directions:

Combine first 6 ingredients and set aside. Cut chicken into small pieces that would hold on sticks, then marinate in sauce for at least half an hour. Place chicken pieces on sticks (that have been soaked in water) with mushrooms in between. Broil.
