Drain pears, reserving juice. Heat juice to boiling and add the Jell-O. Cool. Place pears and cream cheese in blender and blend till smooth. Pour in a large bowl and fold in cooled Jell-O mixture and Cool Whip till smooth. Place in serving dish and refrigerate. Garnish with fresh fruit of any kind.
Fun Fact: Pears are cousins to apples. In North America, the first pear trees arrived with early colonists in the 1700s, where they thrived until blights became severe. Most pears are now commercially grown west of the Rockies where ideal growing conditions exist.
