Ingredients

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon yellow cornmeal
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
1/2 cup melted butter
3 tablespoons milk or light cream
1 1/2 teaspoons white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 unbaked (9-inch) pie shell (or plain or butter-flavored ready crust)

Directions:

Toss sugars, flour, cornmeal, and salt together with a fork. Add eggs, melted butter, milk or cream, vinegar, and vanilla. Beat mixture with electric beater until smooth. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Cover edges of crust with narrow strips of foil for first 25 minutes of baking to prevent overbrowning. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until a clean knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Can be frozen.
