Combine butter, sugars, vanilla and dry pudding mix in a bowl; beat until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs; add flour gradually. A little more butter may be added if batter seems too dry. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts until batter is stiff. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
