Ingredients

1 (28-ounce) can tomato sauce (homemade tomato sauce is even better if you have it)
1/2 cup burgundy wine
2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil
3 to 4 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
1 (15-ounce) can tomato (whole, sliced, or diced-your choice)
1 (15-ounce) can tomato paste
1 medium onion, diced into 1/2-inch pieces
4 to 5 teaspoons fresh chopped chives
Italian seasoning (if you can get fresh herbs such as marjoram, basil, sage, rosemary, oregano and thyme, it's even better)

Directions:

In a sauce pan large enough to hold it all, saute the garlic in the olive oil for 2-3 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients except for your seasonings and stir with a wire whisk until well mixed. If you use the dried Italian Seasoning, mix in 2-3 tablespoons and let simmer for about an hour. If you use fresh herbs, finely mince 1-2 tablespoons of your herbs and stir them into the sauce. A few minutes before serving, add the chopped chives. Simmer to the desired thickness or if you’re in a hurry add an (8-oz) can of tomato paste. Thin with water or wine if needed.
