Prep: 5 min; Cook: 5 min; About 12 cups


   ___ cup unpopped popcorn (not microwave popcorn)
   ___ cup vegetable oil
   Salt, if desired


1. Pour popcorn and oil into 4-quart Dutch oven. Tilt Dutch oven to spread popcorn evenly. Cover and cook over medium-high heat until 1 kernel pops; remove from heat. Let stand 1 minute, then return to heat.

2. Cook, shaking pan occasionally, until popcorn stops popping. Immediately pour into serving bowl. Sprinkle with salt; toss until evenly coated. Serve warm.
