Saratoga Rose Grand Marnier French Toast

3 eggs
1/4 cup cream
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 jiggers grand marnier, divided
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
6 slices French bread
Garnish: whipped cream, warm maple syrup, fresh strawberries, powdered sugar, and orange slices


Combine and mix eggs, cream, cinnamon, sugar, vanilla, and 1 jigger Grand Marnier. In a large sauté pan, melt butter over medium heat. Dip bread into mixture and cook in pan until golden on one side. Turn bread over and increase heat. Then either add a jigger of Grand Marnier directly and flambe, or remove pan from heat and add Grand Marnier, letting it simmer into the French toast for about 30 seconds. Garnish with fresh strawberries and orange slices and whipped cream. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with warm syrup.
