Onion Shortcake Casserole

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter
1 pound sliced Bermuda onion
1 (15 1/2-ounce) can creamed corn
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup milk
1 1/2 cups corn bread and muffin mix
2 drops Tabasco
1 cup sour cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup dill
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, divided

Directions:

Sauté onions in butter. In bowl, mix together creamed corn, egg, milk, corn muffin mix, and Tabasco. Add sour cream, salt, and dill to onions. Add 1/2 cup shredded cheese to onion mixture. Pour corn mixture in bottom of an 8-inch square pan. Pour sour cream mixture over corn mixture. Sprinkle on remaining cheese. Bake at 425° for 30–40 minutes.
