Ingredients

1 cup sifted flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 pound polyunsaturated margarine
ice cold water

Directions:

Sift the flour, sugar, salt a baking powder together into a bowl. Blend in the margarine and mix until the margarine dissolves. You may need a teaspoonful of the ice water to get the dough to rolling consistency.

Shape the dough into a ball, place it between 2 sheets of waxed paper and roll out with a rolling pin. Remove the top layer of waxed paper, invert the dough over a pie plate and remove the paper. Fit the dough to the plate and trim the edges. Flute the margins with a fork.

If the dough is to be baked now, prick the bottom with a fork and bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Cool before filling.

If the dough will be baked with a filling, do not prick the bottom

For a 2-crust pie, make a second crust recipe.
