George’s Clam Chowder


Serves: 5
Total Calories: 365

Ingredients

6 medium baker potatoes
1 large onion
4 large garlic cloves, chopped
1 can cream of celery soup
1 pint half and half
2 cups water
3 (6.5-ounce) cans chopped clams with juice
1 "glug" sherry
salt and pepper to taste
6 shakes (or more or less to taste) Tabasco
1 cup fresh celery, chopped
1 pound bacon

Directions:

AT CAMP:
1. Chop bacon and fry until crisp.

2. Remove bacon to paper towel.

3. To bacon grease, add potatoes, onions, celery and garlic.

4. Add remaining ingredients except half and half and bacon.

5. Cook until potatoes are soft.

6. Add bacon and half and half.

7. Simmer to blend.

Fun Fact: If you are attacked by a bear, you should play dead, curl in a ball and lock your hands behind your head.
