Rice Pudding

1 cup rice
5 cups milk
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup slivered blanched almonds
1/3 cup raisins
1 teaspoon salt


Combine the rice and 1 cup boiling water in deep saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Add milk and simmer for minutes. Add beaten eggs, stir in remaining ingredients, and pour into casserole. Set in pan of hot water and bake in hot oven (400°F) for 45 minutes.
