Chipped Beef in Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients

3/4 pound dried chipped beef
2 (10 3/4-ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup butter
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup toasted almonds
toasted bread

Directions:

Soak chipped beef in 2 cups of hot water for 10 minutes. Drain and discard water. Sauté beef in butter in chafing dish for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Combine soup with milk and stir until smooth and thoroughly blended. Stir soup mixture and Worcestershire into beef. Season with pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with toasted almonds. Serve on toast.
