Pork Chop Corn Bake

Ingredients

4 pork chops
1 tablespoon shortening
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 (16-ounce) can whole-kernel corn, drained
milk
3/4 cup coarse cracker crumbs
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon instant minced onion

Directions:

Brown pork chops in melted shortening in heavy skillet over low heat. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Drain liquid from corn, measure, and add enough milk to make one cup. Stir corn and liquid together with remaining ingredients. Spoon into greased 1 1/2- to 2-quart casserole and place browned pork chops on top of corn mixture. Bake at 350° for 50–60 minutes.
