Heat oven to 375°. In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add water and semisweet chocolate squares, and stir until chocolate is melted. Add cocoa and sugar, and cook 5 minutes until sugar is melted. Cool.
In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, combine egg, milk, sour cream, and vanilla extract, and blend on low speed with an electric mixer. Make a well in the center of dry ingredients, and pour in egg mixture and cooled chocolate mixture. Blend at medium speed.
Fill greased muffin tins. Take one Hershey’s Kisses candy and push it down into the center of each cup of batter. Bake 20 minutes or until a tester inserted into a muffin comes out clean. (Insert tester off center to avoid candy.) Cool.
Fun Fact: In the early 1900s, more than 198 models of automobiles were manufactured or assembled in 42 Indiana cities. The largest of Indiana’s automobile manufacturers was the Studebaker Company. It produced its first car in 1901 and continued making automobiles until they closed in 1963. The Studebaker National Museum in South Bend is one of many classic car museums in Indiana. Others include: the Antique Auto Museum in Elkhart, the Classic Car Museum in Warsaw, the Door Prairie Museum in LaPorte, and the Auburn-Cord Dusenberg Museum in Auburn.
