Cola Cake

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup margarine
1 cup cola
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup margarine
6 tablespoons cola
1 pound confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts


Sift together flour, sugar, and cocoa. Heat margarine and cola to boiling. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well. Do not use mixer. Add salt, buttermilk, baking soda, marshmallows, eggs, and vanilla; mix well. Pour batter into greased 9x13-inch pan. Bake in preheated 350° oven 30–35 minutes.

In small saucepan, combine cocoa, margarine, and cola. Heat to boiling. Pour over confections’ sugar; mix well. Add vanilla and nuts; blend well. Spread over hot cake.
