Sweet Onion Pasta Sauce


Serves: 6

Ingredients

2 large Vidalia onions, cut into slices and rings separated
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 small can tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 cup white wine
1 teaspoon sugar

Directions:

Sauté the onion in the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat until they are translucent. Add the garlic and cook until the garlic is translucent. Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, basil, oregano, wine and sugar. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
