Creole Sauce

Serves: 6

3 tablespoons polyunsaturated oil
1 small onion, diced
1 small green pepper, seeded and diced
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 (10-ounce) can diced tomato
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
5 drops Tabasco Hot Sauce
1/2 teaspoon basil


Sauté the onion, green pepper and mushrooms in the oil for 15 minutes. Add the tomatoes and seasoning and simmer for 30 minutes until the sauce thickens.
