1 1/2 tablespoons unflavored jello
1/2 cup water cold
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons lemon juice fresh
2 cups water boiling
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup cabbage finely shredded
2 cups celery diced
2 pimiento diced or 1/4 cup diced sweet red or green pepper
1/2 cup radishes thinly sliced
Lettuce leaves, washed and crisped
* Part two.
3/4 cup mayonnaise real
1/4 cup half and half
Soak gelatin in cold water for 5 minutes. Add vinegar, lemon juice, boiling water, sugar, and salt. Cool. When mixture is the consistency of egg white, add cabbage, celery, pimientos or pepper, and radishes. Turn into a 5-cup ring mold rinsed in cold water. Chill overnight. Unmold on a bed of lettuce leaves. Prepare the following mayonnaise dressing.
Mayonnaise Dressing:
*Blend mayonnaise and half-and-half until smooth. Serve over salad.
Note: A delicious accompaniment to cold sliced chicken or veal.
