Pear-Sausage Breakfast Bake

Ingredients

1 (16-ounce) can pear drained and 1/4 cup syrup reserved
2 cups buttermilk baking mix
2 teaspoons cinnamon ground
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs lightly beaten
1 cup walnuts chopped
2 (8-ounce) packages sausages sausage links
1/4 cup sugar
Warm maple syrup

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400°. Lightly grease a shallow 2-quart baking dish. Dice pears set aside.

Combine baking mix and 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon set aside.

In a medium bowl, stir reserved pear syrup, milk, oil and eggs until well blended. Stir in baking mixture just until moistened. Gently stir in pears and nuts.

Arrange half of the sausages in baking dish. Carefully pour batter over. Arrange remaining sausages on top.

In a small bowl, combine sugar and remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Sprinkle over sausages. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cut into squares and serve with syrup.
