2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
2 cups milk
1/2 cup brown sugar packed
1/4 cup butter
2 eggs lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups bread 1/2 -inch cubed firm
Cinnamon Sauce
Preheat oven to 325°. Butter a 1 1/2 -quart casserole. In a 3-quart saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate in milk. Remove from heat. Add brown sugar and butter; stir until brown sugar melts. Stir one-third of the hot mixture into the eggs, then stir back into mixture in saucepan. Stir in vanilla. Add bread and toss until bread is completely moistened. Pour into casserole and smooth top surface. Bake for 1 hour or until top is puffed and set and a knife inserted near center comes out almost clean. Serve hot with Cinnamon Sauce.
