8 ounces pork sausages mild bulk
1 cup apples shredded peeled
1/2 cup bread crumbs fine dry
1 egg lightly beaten
2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
In a medium bowl, combine sausage, apple, bread crumbs, egg and flour until well blended. Form into four patties, each about 1/2 inch thick.
In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, fry patties in hot shortening for 3 to 5 minutes on each side or until well browned. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook 5 minutes longer or until no longer pink in center. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
