Italian Chicken Delight

6 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup Italian bread crumbs
1/2 cup oil
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon basil
1 Generous amount garlic powder
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 mozzarella cheese


Dip chicken breasts halves into beaten egg, coating well. Roll breasts in bread crumbs. Brown in oil. Drain chicken and place in casserole dish in single layer.

To oil in skillet, add tomato sauce, salt, pepper, butter, basil, and garlic powder. Simmer and pour over chicken. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Seal top with foil. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Uncover and top with triangles of mozzarella cheese. Bake 10 more minutes.
